Choir

Each year singers from many local church choirs and community choral groups comprise the SingAlong Messiah choir. These faithful and generous people contribute their time and talent to our collective success. We are very grateful for them, and thank you for their participation and contribution.

Be part of the 2017 Sing-Along Messiah Choir

Conductor Dr. Lillian Quackenbush, the soloists, and the producers are eagerly preparing for this year’s Sing-Along Messiah. Last year we had an overflow audience. We always need a large, strong choir so the audience participants feel more confident and comfortable.

The choir rehearsal, which lasts about an hour, will be Sunday, December 17, at 6:45 p.m. in the sanctuary at Washington Street United Methodist Church. Choir members should arrive by 6:30 p.m. for the rehearsal. Soloists will be practicing earlier, so please enter the sanctuary quietly. Novello Watkins Shaw edition scores will be available for anyone needing to borrow one.

If you cannot attend the rehearsal but want to participate in the choir, please send an e-mail to Angela@wsmethodist.com to let the producers know that you will attend Monday but not Sunday. This will help them plan choir seating.

If you know of other singers who would like to participate, bring them along. We will find places for everyone.

The performance will be Monday, December 18, at 7:00 p.m. Call time for the orchestra and the choir on Monday is 6:15 p.m. The choir will meet in the Leavitt Choir Room behind the sanctuary. Choir participants may wear robes from their church choirs or performance group or dress in concert attire.

We hope that this gift of your time and talent will enrich your Christmas season. It is a joyful experience!
